Archive Display Cabinet
The large glass-fronted display cabinet is located outside the Founders' Library, in the McIsaac Building.
Amongst the exhibits are a very old cream striped blazer and matching cap; a navy striped blazer and cap; the Jack Hobbs signed cricket ball and pictures; a sword which belonged to Lindsay Paddon Row who was a pupil in the 20s and 30s; an OBE which is also believed to have belonged to Lindsay; photographs and a presentation key from the opening of the school hall in 1935; WW2 Missing In Action telegrams sent to an Old Rydeians' family; 1920s memorabilia relating to a former pupil and Governor John Hinge; also previously unshown photographs of the Founders, Mr & Mrs McIsaac.
Matthew Matsumoto-Prouten MBE, (pupil 1980 - 1988)
The photographs of Miyako, Yamada and Ofunato were taken by Matthew and show the devastation caused by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
2010 October Reunion
The event was a sell-out. The 116 guests included Headmasters past and present, former teachers, pupils and their partners.
Old Rydeians had travelled from all over the UK and beyond, some from as far afield as Canada, France, Kenya, Tokyo, Texas, Australia and New Zealand.
